Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Location: Flower Mound, TX

Compensation Range: $90,000.00 - $108,000.00 annually, depending on relevant experience and qualifications.

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for leading and driving all environmental, health, and safety initiatives within a high-volume manufacturing facility supporting a 600+ employee population. This role partners closely with operations leadership and employees to promote a proactive safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, reduce workplace incidents, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing EHS leadership experience, hands-on plant floor engagement, and the ability to influence and lead safety initiatives across all levels of the organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Recommend, develop, and implement programs that maintain safe working conditions and promote employee protection against accidents, illnesses, and injuries.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations by identifying risks, analyzing compliance gaps, conducting audits, and implementing corrective actions.
• Promote and drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce workplace incidents and strengthen regulatory compliance.
• Provide guidance and technical expertise on ergonomic and safety-related initiatives.
• Partner with leadership to analyze root causes and implement strategic EHS improvements that reduce liability and operational risk.
• Reduce the frequency and severity of workplace incidents through proactive safety programs and engagement.
• Drive cultural change from reactive to preventive safety practices.
• Maintain compliance with EHS reporting requirements, audits, inspections, and documentation.
• Lead and facilitate an engaged and effective employee EHS committee.
• Conduct facility inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable state and federal requirements.
• Establish and manage training programs for all levels of operations, including: New Hire Orientation; Forklift Certification; First Aid/CPR; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP); Fall Protection; Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO); Emergency Planning; Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Ensure compliance with required PPE usage and safety procedures.
• Oversee workers’ compensation claims management and return-to-work programs.
• Lead investigations related to incidents, accidents, and near misses while ensuring corrective actions are implemented and communicated.
• Spend approximately 70% of time on the manufacturing floor supporting operations and driving EHS engagement.
• Utilize remaining time for reporting, compliance documentation, audits, data entry, and safety program administration.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental, health, and safety compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to manage EHS programs within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively influence and lead across all levels of the organization.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build partnerships across operations and leadership teams.
• Experience leading training programs for both small and large groups.
• Ability to lead and influence without direct authority.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience leading comprehensive EHS programs within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience supporting a busy manufacturing facility with a workforce of 600+ employees preferred.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, local, and industry safety regulations.
• Experience managing workers’ compensation programs and safety investigations preferred.

Job Specific Requirements

• Ability to work extensively on the manufacturing floor in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to support multiple shifts and respond to operational or safety-related issues as needed.
